How to tell if your refrigerator is too cold:

I was going to make Booger her favorite breakfast of scrambled eggs; however, I experienced a bit of a problem when attempting to crack them! Made me think of my dear friends and family braving the -30 degree temps back home in Wisconsin...

Alpine loves a little cowboy named Sawyer!

We recently moved to a wonderful town named Alpine, Tx. By recently, I mean like 3 days ago, so the house looks like a tornado ripped it apart, we can't find the silverware, and the tv isn't hooked up yet. In order to take a break and not kill each other, the cowboy and I loaded up the booger and went to watch the local stock show. (For My family and friends in WI, a stock show is like y'all's county fair without all the rides.)
Anyways, we were told to go to the auction afterwards to watch the kids auction off their animals, and there was a free meal involved and given that the current location of our silverware is unknown, we accepted.
After watching a few kids go through the sale, we saw a face that we recognized from the show earlier in the day. It was a young man named Sawyer. It was obvious (to say the least) that Sawyer was exited to be here, and that he took looking good for a livestock auction very seriously. He was the only cowboy wearing a tuxedo with his boots! He brought his goat out into the ring and smiled his unmistakable smile and his heart shined through as the bidding began. The bids were going very well and at around the $2,000 mark the auctioneer asked the two main competing bidders if they would like to split the cost at a grand each. The bidders agreed and as the bidding was about to close, other buyers wanted to be a part of the pot and make this a memorable stock show for this very special boy. After another maybe ten minutes, multiple companies joining the bids, and even radio listeners calling in to bid, Sawyer went home with a final check of $12,200 for his goat!
God truly blessed this boy, and he undoubtedly bless each person who contributed to the sale for supporting these kids, but it was absolutely amazing to see the out pouring love and support this little town showed this adorable black-tie cowboy. The most touching part of all, is Sawyer's unmistakable smile, that beautiful down syndrome smile.

Arizona

Today I have been thinking about the recent shooting of government officials in Tuscon. Now, I am a lifetime member of the NRA and my family and I have hunted as long as I can remember. I grew up in a house full of guns and I own 2 now. It may be cliche, but GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE. Put the blame where it belongs. Stricter gun laws wouldn't have stopped that attack, nor will it prevent another one. If that man didn't have a gun, he would have used a different weapon. What occurred was a tragedy, but it could have been worse...Imagine if he would have choose a car or a plane or a bomb! The number of people affected could have been unimaginable. I've been praying for those who were injured and who passed, and their families as well as the attackers family. God bless the USA.

The Circle of Life

Last night we found this little guy on the side of the road. He was recently hit by a car and had a broken back. Not wanting him to suffer we caught him and had the game warden put him to sleep. Sad, but it's part of life...
