Last night we found this little guy on the side of the road. He was recently hit by a car and had a broken back. Not wanting him to suffer we caught him and had the game warden put him to sleep. Sad, but it's part of life...
It really did suck. I hope the people who hit him couldn't find him or something instead of just leaving him like that.... It was odd because we always (seriously always) have a gun with us...except that night because we were in the middle of moving! So we flagged down a border patrol agent (which is easy in this area) and they radioed for the game warden to come out to take care of him.
Poor little guy!! At least he's out of his misery now. Not a lot of people would have been that humane -- you guys rock!
